Gate One Builders is owned and operated by U.S. Naval Academy graduates and long time residents of the Greater Annapolis area, Matt Long and John Pilli. Through this unique partnership between Matt and John, Gate One Builders provides a wide range of services including custom homes, additions and renovations to existing homes, and historic restorations.
Matt and John work in close collaboration with each customer from the planning stage through to project completion to ensure a quality product that exceeds our customer’s expectations. Their commitment to quality is evident in every project – small or large – that they take on.
The result is award-winning work that has been recognized by our clients, the community, and the Historic Annapolis Foundation.
Our History
Gate One Builders is the evolution of a strong partnership between John Pilli and Matt Long that began while Matt was a Project Manager for Pilli Development, Gate One Builders’ sister company. John, who has over 30 years in the residential construction business, has mentored Matt in every aspect of custom home building and historic renovation.
Gate One Builders was born out of the construction arm of Pilli Development with the sole purpose of building and renovating fine homes. Pilli Development still operates as a development company, but Gate One Builders executes the construction projects.
